Ignite Dublin #1

This sounds like a great event, I'd love to attend. I'd be coming from Sligo, so depending on my schedule, I should be able do go.

Is there some way to register?

I am very keen on coming as well! I looked at the video on the home page and it looks very intriguing. I wonder what the Dublin speakers will talk about.

Thanks for your interest in Ignite Dublin #1: we have ten speakers so far, so if you would like to speak do let us know, there is still slots available. I will be trying to get titles off the speakers this week and so we will hopefully post a provisional schedule soon, we have all sorts of interesting people, including the president of DCU and a Taeko drummer.

There will be a ticket system, free tickets but limited, the Science Gallery isn't such a big venue. They will sort this out soon and we will announce the details then; I will hold a ticket for anyone who has commented here.

I see that the event got a mention on Silicon Republic, which should drum up plenty of interest. Looking forward to the evening.

The Science Gallery has decided to charge 5 EUR for Ignite, a small charge makes it easier to estimate numbers; to buy a ticket go to their events pages.

It is looking like a lot of fun, we have most of the speakers lined up, including, for example, Ferdinand vanP rondzynski, the president of Dublin City University, Eoin O'Dell who blogs at cearta.ie and David Malone who wrote the O'Reilly book on IPv6. We decided not to do a competition for the first Ignite, perhaps in the future.
